What are the IP Codes Associated with Immersion Testing

Below is a brief description of the two types of immersion tests included in ingress protection testing per the IEC 60529 test standard.

IPX7 Testing
Method name: short-time immersion test;
Test equipment: immersion tank.
Test conditions: The size should be such that after the sample is placed in the immersion tank, the distance from the bottom of the sample to the water surface is at least 1m. The distance from the top of the sample to the water surface is at least 0.15 m.
Test time: 30min.

IPX8 Testing
Method name: continuous diving test;
IP X8 immersion testing is defined as immersion in over one meter of water.
